Have you ever been walking with your family in a crowded place and looked down only to notice that your child has wandered off? Has an elderly member of your family wandered off from the care of his or her caretaker? Has your pet ever run off and not come back after a few minutes? Ever wonder if, in these moments of panic, you can take out your phone and send an alert to those around you enlisting their help in finding your loved one? Now you can!

Proximity is an app thats helps to quickly and safely recover loved ones that have wandered off. This app, the first of its kind, uses crowd sourcing and social media to recover lost loved ones that have left your side in the immediate moments after you realize they are gone. Through our cutting edge app, you can send out a localized alert to your immediate proximity when someone you love has gone missing. You can add as much or as little information about your loved one as you would like (age, height, weight, last seen wearing, etc.) The alert is then received by those in your area and with the help of those users around you, both you and other users can aid in finding your lost loved one.

Proximity uses real-time location to connect you to users who have seen your loved one. Proximity uses calling and messaging features, so that you can contact the user(s) who has spotted your loved one. We also use a map to connect you to the user so that you can quickly and safely walk to your loved one and recover him or her. Once you are reunited with your loved one, you simply open up Proximity and report your loved one “found”, which tells other users to stop the search.

This is not an alternative to emergency services. You should call 911 if you believe an emergency has taken place. This is simply an app to track down loved ones that have wandered off. Please call 911 if you feel the need.
